Stamps & Phone Card There are 3 types of phone card in Turkey with different units. With a phone card of 100 units, you can call Japan for aprox.2-3 minutes..The cost of this card is 6.70.-YTL .(aprox 500 jpy) .Post card stamp is 0.80-YTL (aprox 60 jpy)

Drinking Water Tap water in Turkey is safe but highly cholorinated. It is recommended to consume bottled water.Market Price for a small bottle water is around 0.50 -YTL. ( aprox - 30 jpy)

Electricity Electricity in Turkey is 220 V. You will need an adapter( round tip type ) to use your personal devices in Turkey.

Taxi Generally in Big Towns in Turkey , taxis have taximeter. Opening fare daytime 1.30.- YTL (aprox -80 jpy) daytime, 1.60.-YTL. (aprox 110 jpy) nightime . For every 200 meters additional fare charged.

WC Public toilets are NOT free of charge. You will be charged 0.50.-YTL (aprox- 35 jpy). Better to have small exchange units.

Time Comparison Summer time hour application r on 26 th of March and ends 29 th of October 2005 (26 March 2006 - 29 October 2006). During this time there is a difference of 6 hours between Turkey and Japan.In winter period this is 7 hours.

Opening /Closing hours Shops in Turkey , in general, opens at 08:00-08:30 in the morning and close at 19:00- 19:30.State offices are open between 09:00-17:00 and closed on weekends ( saturday and sunday). Grand Bazaar closed on every Sunday and Religious Holidays.
