The Sweetheart's Dance

The 11th race was a resident restricted race and was for Vermont maidens. Called The Sweetheart's Dance it was appropriately named for the weekend before Valentine's Day. It drew a full field and hunch betters made some money by playing Phillipj2's Greece Dance (IRE) in the Sweetheart Dance. The 6YO mare by Sword Dance (IRE) came from off the pace to win the 7 1/2-furlong race for maiden 3 and up fillies and mares. Jockey T. Tippins was in the irons for the 3 1/2-length victory. The winning time was 1:31 3/5. Lightning Mama was second and Dyslexia Drill held on for third money.
