Well, it looks like the match racing between Ldyssecret and myself has turned back in my favor! This one mile allowance, with a purse of $150, drew only a field of 5. Of course, Vermont residents got a substantial boost if they hit the board, so it was in my best interests NOT to let ldys get out of this one with little competition. Her Late Cat, from the sojourneys stable, was a prohibitive favorite at almost 1/2, while my Top Niner drew in at 3/2. Throw in hilofarms' Stormy Father, as well as two computer horses to complete the field of five, and you had a small field racing for some nice $$$. With the computer horses slugging it out early on, the Vermonsters laid back, waiting for the opportunity to pounce. Top Niner made his presence felt first, sweeping past those pc dogs as the field entered the stretch, with Late Cat and stormy Father getting rolling in deep stretch. It turned out to be too little, too late, as Top Niner was able to hold off the furious rally of Late Cat to take home the prize.

Curiously, the thirty grand went to the phillipj2 stable instead of the phillipj stable LOL. Who cares as long as it went to ME!! Ldys....are you entering Late Cat again this week?? Wanna rematch? Top Niner is going again :)
