well after months of head aches, set backs and changed parts FRED is done. the electronics have always been the same (except the new 3200uF cap not a 4700 - a 2200 under the board and 1000uF on top) but the mechanics have changed. the latest problem was with the pager motors - but now it works great. i'm very happy with FRED. he has FLED eyes/voltage sensor covered with pieces of a pen barrel. the motors are mounted on springs i got from a remote control (battery holder). there are 1uF caps across the motor terminals to make them turn on harder. a cassette roller serves as a roller and stablizer in the rear though it doesn't actually contact the floor normally. the electronics are hidden under the solar panel. the transistors are under the board. |
