Alex stopped suddenly, and listened. She didn't hear a thing for a second, but then shouts came from behind, so she ran as fast as she could down the left path.
"I'm never going to the dollar theatre again!" She said, panting.
"And now I don't have to work out, I've already lost a pound running from this asshole."
She stopped suddenly, causing Zac to run into her and knock her down. She got back up, her jeans and red shirt covered in dirt and her hat knocked off. Zac quickly apologized and then they started running again.
Alex frowned. "Zac, we have to get into town." She said, brushing herself off. "I think we can get some money from somewhere, and then we can call home."
"Right." Zac responded.
Alex stopped running. "Zac" she said, panting furiously. "We have to sleep."
He looked at her like she was insane.
"Are you kidding? With them after us? They'll find us!!" She nodded.
"That's why we're going to sleep in the trees." She pointed up at a tree.
He frowned, but sighed and began to climb. They reached the top and Alex somehow found a snug place where she could lean backand let her feet hang down without being seen. Zac looked around, but he couldn't find anything. Alex laughed at him and pointed to his foot, where a place right across from her was. Zac grinned sheepishly.
"I swear, what would you do without me?" She said.
"Well, that depends on whether you move or die." he said seriously.
She sighed and leaned back, exaughsted. Soon she and Zac were asleep.
