Youth Aware is a group of young people and adults committed to helping youth as they deal with difficult questions around sexuality and gender identity -- their own and others'. We are also working to bring these issues to the attention of those who work with youth. Our group includes students, parents, siblings, school personnel, medical professionals, therapists, outreach workers, business owners and other concerned people in the Addison County area.

We offer resources for young people as well as parents, educators and community members who are ready to learn more. We want to help meet the needs of people dealing with sexual orientation and gender identity. The activities we offer are based on what the youth request. We are here to listen and respond with respect and clear information.

A Healthy Vision for Young People

We at Youth Aware believe that we can create a safe and accepting community which seeks to support youth as they develop their own sexual and gender identities:

• ...where accurate information is available and accessible;


• ...where safe spaces exist for discussion and expression;


• ...where people listen with the care and respect that individuals need and deserve.

We welcome all ages, orientations and levels of awareness.
