The One Chapter 10
The Day Before- Back in Greentown
Robert Evans smiled smugly as he walked into Star's old office. After Lola cheated on him, he realized that Star was the one for him. He thought she'd be waiting for him to take her back.
He saw the receptionist, Morgan, and asked where Star was. She just stared at him, obviously confused.
"She didn't tell you?" she finally asked.
"What are you talking about, Morgan?" he snapped.
"She's your girlfriend, Robert! Why don't you ask her?"
"Ex-girlfriend, Morgan. I haven't talked to her since I broke up with her at Isabel's wedding! I want to see her. Where is she?"
She flinched. "She doesn't work here anymore."
"What do you mean she doesn't work here anymore? She's the best massage therapist you have!"
"She got a job with the Backstreet Boys in Orlando. She moved there today. She's gone."
"That goddamn little witch! She's probably going after that crazy bad boy! He'll never have her. She's mine!"
"She's not yours anymore! And don't you dare talk about AJ that way!" She sighed heavily. "You'd better not go after her. I'm warning you. I wouldn't be surprised if she was AJ's girlfriend. At least he'd treat her better!"
Robert looked as if Morgan slapped him across the face. He gave her an evil smile. "She will be mine, Morgan. Mark my words."
He turned and ran out of the office. He jumped into his black Mustang and sped off. He didn't care if he was going over the speed limit. He needed to get to Orlando. He was going to get Star back. He didn't care how he did it. He stopped the car in front of a store. He ran out, got a one way ticket to Orlando, jumped back into the car, and went to his apartment. He quickly threw clothes into his duffel bag, put some books, CD's, and a Discman into his backpack. He ran out the door, jumped into his Mustang, and raced towards the airport.
He settled into his seat twenty minutes later with an evil smile on his face. "Star will be mine," he muttered under his breath.
