The following requirements for participation in the 4-H Classes: Requirements for 4-H Horse Project Show Card

1. Each exhibitor in a 4-H Horse Show, or a 4-H class in an open show, must be a member in good standing of a recognized 4-H club or a 4-H Horse Project. 4-H members in good standing must:

A. Have cared for the project animal since at least April 10th of the current year and have a card issued by the Regional 4-H/Youth Developmeny Specialist, annually on May 10th.

B. Fill out the 4-H Show Card application form and submit it to the regional office by May 10th of the current year.

2. Project Animals shall NOT be switched during the year. In exceptional cases(death of the project animal or permanent unsound with a note from the veterinarian) a new card may be applied for. This animal cannot be shown in a 4-H class until 30 days after the application is filed in the Regional Extension Office.

3. Care(the physical portion of the maitenance,exclusive of riding and driving the horse,not the financial)should average 3 hourse per week,taking into consideration the number of 4-H members involved with the care of the horse.Each exhibitor must, to the best of his/her ability, prepare his/her own project for all classes.Help can be sought from other 4-Her's.
