This was our home before we added vinal siding and installed insulated windows. As soon as my scanner decides to work correctly I will put up some of it as it was being destroyed. Amazing changes. *shaking head* I still can't believe it.

I would like to thank everyone who has kept us in their prayers for not only my husband and myself, but for all
our neighbors. For those of you who haven't heard yet, the hill our homes sit on is sliding. Several
homes have already been lost, over 11 have been declared unsafe and several
families have had to move out in the past couple weeks. Every thing that can be done
is being done, which sadly is very little. We are in a sit and wait pattern really right now. The power
of prayer is our best hope. So please think of us in your prayers tonight
and THANK YOU!! God Bless you all! *S*
Update...
Tonight is
meeting night.
Has been two weeks and the earth is still moving and in some
areas it is moving in feet not inches, per day.
Boy so much has been happening, I don't know where to start.
Over 66 homes have now been affected. We had to
move out of our home and move into our 5th wheel trailer, then find
another house and move again. We finally found a place we love and
are in the process of moving in, lot of work this moving stuff! *L*
Brian had to leave on a business trip and we still have the majority of
items to move. *sigh* But I have enough to get me by til he gets home and
we can get the rest of our things. Have no idea what we will end up
doing with the house on Aldercrest. For now we are managing to keep
up with the payments. We are taking a sit and wait additude b4 we decide
what steps and actions to take next. Unfortunetly there are people in
this world who are so low they take advantage of people when they are
down. Someone took my planters on our deck and our lounge chair that
we had not moved for lack of a place to store them. They dumped the plants onto the deck
and stole the containers. *shaking head* How low can people go?? *sigh*
I am trying not ot look back or dwell on losing the house but rather
focus on my blessings and knowning full well it could have been oh so
much worse. I have plenty to be grateful for and I am focusing on
getting the new place decorated. It is stuck in a 70's time warp. *groan*
Time to bring it into the 90's *L* Before the year 2000. Is it really
possible that we are just 2 years away from THAT?? Anyway, onward and
upward. *S*
We just found out that Clinton has turned us down for any Federal aide.
We don't seem to matter to him. Hell, why should we?? We still have
to pay our taxes thereby paying his wages!! *GRRRRRRRRRRRR*
Also found out just how much the city of Kelso has in
their coffiers, and believe me it is a stagering amount!! Let's
just say they have more than enough to buy out all the home owners
but they choose to only buy out 8?? Well, we'll have to see about that.
So we continue to play the sit and wait game. I swear sometimes
I feel like I will just nut up from it All!! *SIGH* There seems to be no end
in sight. *sigh* So I stick my head back in the sand a little while longer.

Last week we met with the SBA who are setting up low interest rates for
all of the slide victims. The man told us we needed to get a laywer and
a CPA. Said there is no way we should have to continue making house
payments on that place. Also informed us that if the bank forgives us
the loan the amount outstanding will be conisdered INCOME by the
GOVERNMENT that we will have to PAY TAXES on!! How could they possibly
do that??? That just does NOT make sense, not even for the government!!
I am so beyond angry!!!!!! We will be getting in touch with an attorney.
I just had best news I've had in months!!! The SBA is going to loan us enough money to pay off the first and second mortgages on the house on Aldercrest!! I can hardly believe it!! Not only will they pay it those two loans off but they will pay off the house we are now living in and pay off our other loans, cars, credit cards, the whole works!! They are putting it on a 20 yr loan at 3.5%!! Our payments will be about a hundred dollars a month more than they were before all this stuff happened. I am soooooo relieved!! God Bless everyone who said prayers for us and all our neighbors. Thank you all!!
While it is true we will still end up paying for that property we will be out from under all the stress and hassels of dealing with it. *deep sigh of relief* Except we still have to have it torn down and removed. But they are allowing us $7000.00 towards having that done. :-) So this is very good news. About as good as it could get.
Sorry for the lack of updates..... for one thing it is difficult to even think about the whole situation much less get my thoughts organized enough to enter information, which there is little of. The 2 story house we own on Aldercrest Dr. is now a single story and if I ever get my scanner hooked up I will put photo's up. Anyway we still don't know what is going to
happen.
