Dogg Food
Death Row's fifth album created more controversy than the music industry had seen since the old N.W.A. days. Dogg Food came at a time when politicians were attacking rap music, thus putting pressure on the big companies that owned hip-hop labels. Time Warner was at that time the parent company of Interscope Records, and in turn, Death Row Records. Stockholders wanted out of the
rap business when they were put under fire, so Time Warner sold their half of Interscope to the Seagram Company (yup, the same company that makes alcoholic beverages). These alliances have since changed considerably.
