"What are you looking at, pretty boy? Never seen anything as beautiful as me befor, have you? That's right, just keep staring and you won't have anything to stare with much longer!"
The Nosderatu are the least human-appearing of all the clans. They look something like feral animals. Their smell and appearance are revolting - one could even say monsterous. Long, bulbous ears, coarse0skinned skulls covered with tufts of hair, and elongated faces splotched with disgusting warts and lumps are among their less nauseating features.
After Nosferatu have been Embraced, they undergo an exceptionally painful period of transformation. Over a period of weeks, they slowly shift from their mortal countenances to their Nosferatue Visages. In the beginning, the childer may revel in their newfound powers, but soon the pain of the changes will begin. The psychological trauma of becoming such a loathsome monstrosity is often more painful than the physical symptoms.
Nosferatu usually Embrace thoes mortals who are twisted in one way or another: Emotionally, physically, spiritually, or intellectually. They concider the embrace too horrific to bestow on any worthwhile human beings. With the change into vampires, the Nosferatue home to somehow redeem the mortals giving them a second chance. It is suprising how often it works. Underneath the grim exterior, the Nosferatu are practical and suprisingly sane. It is said they revel in being dirty and disgusting and do little to make htemselves look better (Not that there is very much they could do). Indeed, they are cheerful amid their squarlor, especially when others are forced to enter their realm. They are known for being grumpy and lewd, and cannot be trusted to conform to the standards of civilized society.
Though their Obfuscate Discipline enables to Nosferatu to travel though mortal society, they are unable to interact with it. Therefore they must live apart. The habits that develope from such an existance extend even to their interactions with other vampires. They avoid all contact preferring to their own solitary existance to the chaos of interacting with others.
Though Nosferatu may not fraternize with other vampires, they do remain suprisingly cognizant about the affairs of the city. Htey favor such tactics as listening to the conversations of other vampires from hiding, and Nosferatu have been known to sneak into the prince's haven to discover the deepest secrets of his elder. Anyone wishing to know any information about the city is immortal inhavitants need only speak with a Nosferatu.
The Nosferatu do stay in contact with one another, and have developed a unque subculture among the kindred. They play host to another with the most elaborate politeness and gentility. They share the information they garner among themselves, and as a result are probably the best-informed of the kindred.
Nickname: Sewer Rats
Basic Prelude: Nosferatu traditionally favor the twisted and forlorn, and those with nothing
to lose, and you no more fit the bill. Literaly born on the street, you bounce in and out of
orphanages and foster homes your entire life. You escaped this life for a short while by
joining the army, but soon found nothing in yout life had prepared you for a jungle firefight.
When you left the army you were but a shell of your old self, broken and scared. Unable
to hold a job for more than a month, the streets seemed destined to be your grave as well
as your crib. Alcohol became your only solace.
Indeed, you were killed on the streetd, only to be reborn as something more. Your quirky
personality betrayed some spirit, a fire another outcast did not want to see lost. Now you
are truly one of the homeless, for all of the humanity has rejected you. Your home is now
below the streets. There are weird things in the city sewers, things no sane person would
believe, and Vampires are the least of them.
Basic Concept: You move amoung the lowest levels of humanity, and are used to living on
the street. Traits are geared twords urban survival, with the accent on Stamina, Alertness,
Streetwise, Stealth, and Servival.
The character's Herd and Retainers are almost certainly drawn from the city's homeless.
The Mentor Background indicates that the character's Sire is still in touch, probably
having recruited the character as part of an intelligence-gathering network.
The character' Willpower of 4 is an obvious weakness, although low courage is keeping
with the Nosferatu modis Operandi in general and this character's concept in particular.
Combat skills are not high in the list of priorities - this character sees all, heres all, and
hides from most of it.
Weaknesses: Nosferatu are so ugly that they have an appearance of Zero. SImply cross the entire attribute off the character sheet. Nosferatue fail any actions involving their Appearance (They really are hideous).
Organization: They tend to look out for themselves and mingle little with others. Htey are united in spirit, with an established network, but almost nevre have formal clan meetings of any sort.
Roleplaying Tips: You revek in the shock and digust which you inspire in "respectable" people. Yhey judge so much by appearances, and scarcely ever regard you as a human being, so you seized on their image of you and made it into a shield and a weapon for yoursled. Now you fling this image in people's faces whenever you can by being offensive, crude, crass and obnoxious whenever oppertunity arises. You are different with thoes who earm yur respect, though, and your treatment of someone is often a reflection of their treatment of you.
Character Sheet: Nosferatue(Revised) (Must have Acrobatic Reader)
Character Creation: Most Nosferatue have lower class conceptions, and tend to have strong contrast between their Natures and Demeanors. Physical Attributes are their primary, as are Talents.
Clan Discilplines: Animalism, Obfuscate, Potence
Appearance: The changes that the curse has wrought upon the members of this clan are the most dominant of any bloodline. they sport huge fangs, their skin is coarse and wrinkled, and they typically have no hair (exept in all the wrong places.)
Basic Equiptment: Sewers Haven (fully outfitted with cardboard box, carpet, a mattress - sans sheets - and decorations made from photgraphs torn frommagazines), survival knife, filthy clothing, rope.
Haven: The Nosferatu most often live underground, either in dark cellars or within the city sewer system. When they do live above ground, they frequent abandonred house or graveyards.
