To Tabi's Irish Blessings

*Irish* Thanks To Diane for making me this!

AS SPRING ARRIVES,
THE EARTH TURNS GREEN
JUST AS THE EMERALD ISLE
SO EVERYONE, AROUND THE WORLD,
CAN BE IRISH FOR A WHILE.

If you’re enough lucky to be Irish...
You’re lucky enough!

May your pockets be heavy—
Your heart be light,
And may good luck pursue you
Each morning and night.

May you be in heaven a full half hour
before the devil knows your dead.

AM IRISH PRAYER

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die...

An Old Irish Blessing

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way,
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

Christ be with me, Christ be within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger
Christ in hearts of all that love me
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
(FROM THE BREASTPLATE OF SAINT PATRICK)

May the hinges of our friendship
never grow rusty

May your home be filled with laughter
May your pockets be filled with gold
And may you have all the happiness
Your Irish heart can hold.

How sweetly lies old Ireland
Emerald green beyond the foam,
Awakening sweet memories
Calling the heart back home

May you have all the happiness
And luck that life can hold-
And at the end of your rainbows
May you find a pot of gold.

A BLESSING FOR YOU AND YOURS
May the grace of God’s protection
And His great love abide
Within your home-within the hearts
Of all who dwell inside

Whenever I dream, It seems I dream
Of Erin’s rolling hills-
Of all its lovely, shimmery lakes
And little babbling rills-
I hear a colleen’s lilting laugh
Across a meadow fair
And in my dreams its almost seems
To me that I am there-
O, Ireland! O’, Ireland!
We’re Never far apart
For you and all your beauty
Fill my mind and touch my heart.

May the love and protection Saint Patrick can give
Be yours in abundance As long as you live.

May the saint protect ye-
An’ sorrow neglect ye,
An’ bad luck to the one
That doesn’t respect ye
t’ all that belong to ye,
An long life t’ yer honor-
That’s the end of my song t’ ye!

Hills as green as emeralds
Cover the countryside
Lakes as blue as sapphires-
And Ireland’s special pride
And rivers that shine like silver
Make Ireland look so fair-
But the friendliness of her people
Is the richest treasure there.

Ireland, it's the one place on earth
That heaven has kissed
With melody, mirth,
And meadow and mist.

May God grant you always...
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.

There are only two kinds of people in the world,
The Irish, and those who wish they were.

May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
Slow to make enemies,
And quick to make friends.

But rich or poor,
Quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward

May the Lord keep you in His hand
And never close His fist too tight.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

O, Ireland isn’t it grand you look-
Like a bride in her rich adornin’
And with all the pent-up love of my heart
I bid you the top o’ the mornin’.
