1- INTRO: What are hybrids?
Put simply, Hybrids are cars that have been given the parts and characteristics of other cars. The purpose of this is to improve the massive selection of automobiles that Gran Turismo has to offer. This process not only allows you to improve the current parts available for any chosen car, but also allows you to equip any car with parts not usually available that specific model. For example, using the hybrid process you can add a Nissan Skyline's turbocharger to a Dodge Viper GTS (this can push it's horsepower peak well beyond the 1000HP mark).
2- REQUIREMENTS:
A- You will need a Game Shark (preferably version 2.0 or higher.)
B- You will need Gran Turismo version 1.0 (to find out what version of GT you have, check the NOTE in the CODES section below).
C- You will need 1 memory card with five free blocks if you only want 1 Hybrid at a time.
D- You will need at least 2 memory cards to have more than 1 hybrid at any time conveniently.
3- CODES:
Billion Credit Code:
8009B864 CA00
8009B866 3B94
First Garage Space Code:
8007DA48 0001
8009B87A 0001
8009BA0C 00??
The first 2 lines in the Garage Space Code must be inputted for the individual garage space codes to work. The 3rd line in that Garage Space Code is the actual code for the first garage space. The last two numbers in the 3rd line of the Garage Space Code (represented by the two question marks) are for the individual car that will be placed in that garage space. For example, you would place "5E" in the last two digits of the 3rd line in the code to receive an Acura NSX type S-zero in that particular garage space.
To illustrate, I will take the above code and insert the digits for an NSX to better show the procedure.
The code will become:
8009BA0C 005E
Here you see how I have changed the question marks into the appropriate digits to receive the NSX.
NOTE 1: This code will only work on Gran Turismo version 1.0, thus if the code does not work for you then you have version 1.1 and cannot make the hybrids. But before you are convinced that you have version 1.1 , please make sure that the procedure was correctly followed and that you have inputted the codes correctly.
NOTE 2: For the digits and cars that accompany them visit www.cmgsccc.com and go to the Playstation section and look for the Gran Turismo codes.
NOTE 3: The Garage Space Codes on site in Note 2 have 0064 as the last 4 digits of the 1st and 2nd lines of their code, but that 0064 is for simply placing cars in that slot. Thus you will notice that the Hybrid Garage Space Code has this 0064 changed to 0001, this is necessary for creating the hybrids since the 0001 overlaps the cars while 0064 would replace them. So from now on when I mention the Garage Space Code I will be referring to the Hybrid Garage Space Code (0001).
4- HYBRID CREATION PROCEDURE:
The procedure will be given as a set of steps, which are to be followed one after another.
***This first set of steps is for making the simplest form of hybrids.
Step 1: Insert a memory card with at least 5 free blocks into memory card slot 1.
Step 2: Turn on your Playatation with the Game Shark on and activate the Billion Credit code.
Step 3: Select "start game with enhancements" and when the first game screens appear (the NOTICE screen) turn the Game Shark off to avoid any problems with freezing.
Step 4: Start a new game in Simulation mode. When you begin the game click on HOME, and after you enter you should see three options (Garage, Save/Load, and Trade), at this time flick the Game Shark on and then immediately off. This will increase your 10,000 credits to 1,000,000,000 credits.
Step 5: Buy a car that has characteristics and/or parts that you would like to place on another car, then buy and place the desired parts on the car that you just bought. For example, buy a Skyline and place a stage 4 turbo on it, so you can later place that turbo on an NSX.
Step 6: Save your game on memory card 1 and turn off your Playstation.
Step 7: Turn the Playstation back on with the Game Shark on as well.
Step 8: Activate the Hybrid Garage Space Code for the car on which you want to place the parts that are currently on the car in garage space 1. For example, the Skyline with the turbo is currently in garage space 1, and if you put in the Hybrid Code for as NSX, then the NSX would now occupy garage space one and have the Skyline's turbo. Be sure to turn the Game Shark off at the first game screens (the NOTICE screen) or else the game will freeze when you try to enter simulation mode.
Step 9: Enter simulation mode and click on Home.
Step 10: Enter your Garage and at the screen where you can select your different cars, flick the Game Shark on and off as you did with the Billion Credit Code. You will now notice that when you view the car in garage space one, it will be the car you put in the Hybrid Garage Space Code for it will have the parts that were equipped to the car that occupied that particular space before your new car did.
Step 11: You will now have a super powered NSX(equipped with a turbo) to play around with. You can now equip the NSX with any parts you wish, except make sure that you don't try to equip the NSX with an NA tune. Equipping the NA tune will remove it's turbocharger and result in a major loss of horsepower.
***This second set of steps is for making the advanced hybrids in which you can pick and choose different parts and/or characteristics from multiple cars to optimize a cars performance.
Step 1: Follow steps 1 to 4 form above.
Step 2: By a car which has the optimum part which you would like to see in your final product. For example, buy the car that has the best turbo or buy a car that has the best gearbox, this way the parts in your final product would bet the best available. Make sure you only buy the parts you wish to pass on and not any unnecessary ones. This means that if you are buying a gearbox for your final product, don't also buy tires if they are not the tires that you will want in the end, you would not want to pass-on parts that are not as good as they could be.
Step 3: Save your game on memory card 1 and restart your Playstation with the Game Shark on.
Step 4: Activate the code for the next car in which you would like to take a part and/or characteristic from, though be sure to turn the Game Shark off when the first game screens appear (the NOTICE screen) or else the game will freeze when you try to enter simulation mode.
Step 5: Enter simulation mode and Click on HOME. Then enter your garage, and when you can select your cars in the column, flick the Game Shark on and off. The code will now replace the car in garage space 1 with the specific car the you have chosen with the last two digits of the code.
Step 6: Now that new car will have all the parts that you have bought for the one that was in the spot before it. Now buy more parts that you would like to have in your finished product, being careful not to buy any unnecessary parts.
Step 7: When you are done buying your parts then save your game. From here on in you can repeat this process with different cars buying all of the best parts for your finished product.
Step 8: When you have your finished product, save you game on memory card 1 and then turn of your playstation.
Step 9: Now place a different memory card in slot 1 and place the original memory card which occupied memory card slot 1, in slot 2.
Step 10: Now restart the Playstation and use the Billion Credit Code on the new Gran Turismo save. Then trade your hybrid to the new save, and use the origional save to make another hybrid. Every time you make a new hybrid, trade it to the second memory card. That way you can have card 1 for making them and card 2 for storing all of your creations on one save.
5- TIPS:
When you create a really great hybrid, just use that as a template, and place other cars over it. This way you don't have to go through the process of making one hybrid after another, you can just place a car over it, save it, then trade it to memory card two. You can then repeat this by placing a different car over it and trading that to memory card 2 also. This allows you to stockpile a lot of hybrids rather quickly.
Sometimes when you make a hybrid that has enormous power (usually with the Limited Edition cars), when you check the chart in the turbo boost setting it's horsepower has spiked well of the charts. This causes the game to malfunction and not allow the tachometer to reach the high rpm range, thus not letting the car utilize it's maximum horsepower. This can sometimes be cured by removing things like a Racing Muffler and replacing it with a Semi-racing Muffler, or removing something like a tuned rom. If this doesn't work, then reduce the turbo-spec to a level 3, which usually solves the problem. Though sometimes this is not enough so you must change the muffler or rom, or even reduce the turbo-spec to 2. Note: you should always try to change the muffler or rom first, having to reduce the turbo-spec to a lower setting should be your last resort. You know that the car is back to normal when horsepower in the turbo boost chart is not spiking.
Another problem is that some of the cars that you create suffer from extreme turbo lag. Turbo lag is the name given to the negative side effect of turbochargers, which is that they have drastically lower power in the low rpm range. This is because the turbocharger tends to trade low rpm power for high rpm power (I'm not going to get in to the specifics of exhaust pressure and stuff like that). But if this occurs so extremely that you can't get the car into the high rpm range before the race starts, then it can be solved by reducing the turbo-spec level that is equipped to the car . Don't get the turbo-spec part confused with the turbo boost pressure setting, you have to change the spec in the change parts menu.
Yet another problem you will probably encounter with some of your cars is that they don't have the power to reach their second gear. This is solved by orienting the first gear so that it reaches the high rpm range at lower speeds.
Here is some of the best parts (in my experience), which should be included in your hybrids:
Turbo (spec 4)------------------Nissan Skyline GT-R V-SPEC
Displacement Increase--------Nissan Skyline GT-R V-SPEC
Tires-------------------------------Dodge Viper GTS (it's racing tires are 285/35 18 front and 335/35 18 rear)
Racing Intercooler-------------Toyota Supra RZ
Racing Transmission----------Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo
Engine Balancing---------------Dodge Viper GTS (oddly gives higher horsepower only in some cars)
NOTE : The tires on a Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo LM are 315/40 18 front and 335/40 18 rear, which has marginaly widers tires which you can use insted of the Viper's if you would like to start you hybrid process of with having that GT-R Nismo. This helps the acceleration and control of front-wheel drives.
6- WARNING:
This is very important, you can actually fry your Game Shark. I have found that as long as you make the hybrids one by one, the process runs very smooth. Though when I tried to create hybrids in multiple slots at once, it corrupted my Game Shark and now I have to sent it to Interact to be reprogrammed. So you can create hybrids left and right, but just make sure you do not try to create multiple hybrids in multiple slots at once.

Webmasters note: I just HAD to put my name in bold...
This is a step by step guide to making "Hybrids" on Gran Turismo.
Description:
A "Hybrid" is the joining of characteristics of 2 cars and putting them into 1. So it is now possible to make a Viper turbocharged or any other car for that matter. Also it gives players the ability to make cars that exceed the current 942hp threshold. Making a car over a 1000hp is a piece of cake!
Reference:
Car1=The car that you BUY and put in the garage
Car2=The car that you combine with Car1 using the Gameshark
Car3=The "Hybrid", or the car that you get when you combine Car1 and Car2
Requirements:
1.Gameshark.
2.Gran Turismo ver. 1.0 (note, you will know if you have ver. 1.0 if the Gameshark codes work).
3.A Playstation memory card with at least 5 free blocks
Steps:
1) Use the Gamesahrk code for a billion credits to get money.
The code is: 8009B864 CA00
2) Buy a car whose characterists you want to steal. Then, buy parts for it(note, see "Tips"), and save it to your memory card.
3) Next, go to (http://www.cmgsccc.com/psx/grant.shtml), and print out the ver. 1.0 Gran Turimso Gameshark codes.
4) Then pick a type of car that you want to be Car2, and find the the two digit code for the car on the print out.
5) Now on the Gameshark enter the set 1 code first.
The code is: 8007DA48 0001
8009B87A 0001 (Note, see "Tips")
6) Next enter set 2, the "??" is the place to put the two digit code (Note, see step 4).
The code is: 8009BA0C 00??
7) Once have entered in set 1 and 2 start the game, at the "NOTICE" screen turn the Gameshark off (or the PSX will freeze up). Go to the garage in simulation mode, and turn the Gameshark on then right back off, you'll see the car name at the bottom of the screen change.
8) You have made a "Hybrid", test it out on the test track to see if Car1 and Car2 make a good combination. You may need to go back and repeat the process until you get a better combination, experiment!
9) Use the set 3-100 codes to make more "Hybrids" (note, see step 6)
Tips:
1) If you leave Car1 in your garage totally stocked then when you perform the "Hybrid" your new Car3 will not gain anything, as long as Car1 is of stock body and parts no new characteristics will be gained (so if you want to turbocharge Car3 you need to buy a turbo upgrade for Car1 before you perform the "Hybrid").
2) It is suggested that you save the set 1-100 codes under a "Hybrid" filename in the Gameshark menu, so it isn't confusing.
3) It also suggested that you not change parts around on Car3, doing so could result in loss of parts.
4) Car1 must be in the first slot of the garage or another car will become the Car3 and not the one you want. So if you have a Viper and a Supra in your garage and your Viper is in the first slot, the Viper will be the Car1 that is merged with Car2 no matter what you do.
