Nightmares
This piece is kinda strange, but I kinda like it... I wrote it in about 10 minutes so...
As Spike fell to the ground, reaching for her, Willow dashed to his side.
“I…I love you.” He said softly before shattering into a million pieces of shimmering light
And Willow wept the tears of a grieving lover.

Willow awoke suddenly, sitting up in bed sweating.
“What’s wrong, Willow?” Her lover asked tenderly. The shadows fell over his face, hiding it from view.
“I…nothing.” She said harshly, watching as he winced at her words with a tiny amount of pleasure. She climbed out of bed and went the window. “I need some fresh air.” She murmured, throwing open the curtains to the sunlight. The blinding light began to burn her skin, and she crumpled into sparkling pieces of the night as Spike ran to save her.
And he wept bitter tears of loss.

Willow sat up in bed screaming. She took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly, trying to slow her racing heart. She turned to look at Spike with tears in her eyes to see he was also awake, and gasping for air they both knew his lungs did not need. They wrapped their arms around each other tightly, afraid the other was going to disappear, and Spike burrowed his face in Willow’s neck, kissing her roughly with his need to know she was real. “Oh, God, Red, it seemed so real! I thought I’d lost you.” Willow closed her eyes with the pain of the dream.
“I know, Spike. Oh, Goddess, that was horrible.” Tears began to roll down her cheeks and Spike kissed them away.
“I…I…” he tried to say, looking into her green eyes fearfully, searchingly.
“It was a dream, Spike. A horrible, SHARED dream, but a dream nonetheless.”
“You’re not going to die on me, luv?” She smiled weakly and shook her head no, and he relaxed his hold on her slightly. “I love you, Red.” He whispered in her ear.
“I know.” Willow whispered back. “I love you, too.”
