SUN CRUISER REPORT

This is the image that Liz Edwards had discovered on SOHO photographs back in 1998. Here, discovery led her on a quest for the truth. After contacting several agencies regarding these anomalous images, she was left with more questions than answers.
THE SUN CRUISER DEBATE RAGES ON
I have had the sun cruiser images reviewed by many different people of different educational backgrounds. After careful review and examination, UFORC has come to the conclusion that this image in the SOHO photograph could be a lot of things no one explanation any more rational that the next. I have read what others have said regarding possible theories to what the sun cruiser might be. They range from the scientific, to the extremely metaphysic. The explanations that we offer here are not the only ones to the mystery that we are about to examine here.
I took the enhancements done by Edwards to my good friend and FPO Press photographer Kevin Grover. After examining the photographs, he immediately pointed out that the coloration of these images would suggest that there were hot spots and cold areas on the object before exploring any possible explanations. The areas with high definitions towards the blue contrast indicated cooler temperatures, whereas the hotter areas were definitions with the redder contrasts. This is certainly one of the more obvious aspects of these SOHO images, which should be taken into account.
THE CLASSIC SAUCER HYPOTHESIS
His second observation was that the image did look like the conventional flying saucer in many ways, primarily due to the domed top and saucer-like profile. My argument to that were the rounded protuberances at each end of the disc-like profile. I don’t ever recall seeing this particular shape in the hundreds UFO sightings that have been reported. "Was this a new type of UFO saucer," I asked, "with a rounded lip around its circumference?" This was a credible question, and one that begged a reply. "I don’t know” was his answer. "They could be landing pods," he suggested. I asked him to explain. "Well, you know…when a UFO lands, they sometimes leave those rounded impressions in the earth…like landing gear."
I know this photographer. He is a personal friend and business associate. He has been asked to photograph numerous UFO landing sites for US government scientist. He would certainly know about UFO landing sites, I thought. I agreed with him up to a point, but this would not be in a convenient place for landing gear, unless they could fold down upon landing. Unless of course, he was referring to the box-like protuberance at the apparent bottom of the UFO, which would be the correct location for this function, if that were indeed what this is.
THE PLANET JUPITER
One explanation that was offered that is more down to earth would be the planet Jupiter. It too has rings, and it is possible that when it is viewed at a particular angle in relation to the sun and the SOHO cameras, could in fact contain some distortions in its symmetry. I would accept this explanation with open arms, but there are a couple of problems with this explanation.
- The planet Jupiter was not in this positions at the time this photo was taken.
- The asymmetry of the object is considerably out of balance with the proportions that the planet Jupiter. First, the rings are too low in relation to the orb to be this planet and there is what appears to be a huge rectangular area below the UFOs flat plane, which seems to encapsulate the lower half of the orb in the original SOHO photograph.
- Furthermore, there are bulges, ripples and/or disruptions in the continuity of the disc plane itself, which would suggest that there might be additional orbs around the object circumference. If this were the case, then we could rule out the planet Jupiter.

MORE HYPOTHESIS

INSTRUMENT AND/OR EQUIPMENT FAILURE
Another theory that must be considered is the possibility that a glitch in the instruments of the SOHO astronomical observatory created this image. One very interesting theory was that a lens flare or some other type of optical distortion affect caused this image to appear on the film. But once again, this does not fit the classic lens flare characteristics. Yes, this could have been an optical aberration, but a professionally trained photographer should have picked up on that. In fact, this was the furthest thing from his mind, and never came up as a topic of conversation.
CG9-1999 OR SPACE JUNK?
Could this be the elusive CG9-1999 object? It was initially discovered by accident by astronomers, who gave it the name of CG9-1999. This particular object is thought to be a small chunk of the moon that has been floating around in space for thousands of years. It is at least 50 meters in length, and scientists have ruled out the possibility that this was the end stage of a rocket at one time due to its proportions. One argument to this theory was that there is too much symmetry in the SOHO UFO image to be an asteroid or a chunk of the moon. I would take it one step further and say that the object in the SOHO film was many hundreds of times larger, given its level of optical distortion.
My favorite theory was my own, the space junk theory. Given the object’s angle towards the SOHO cameras, this could be an errant satellite that left earth orbit. This particular image may have been solar powered, and if the panels were 80-90% deployed, a similar or identical ripple affect would be noted if the object were examined in profile. The orb would be the end of the satellite instrument tube, giving the impression that the object was facing the camera, in profile, head on.
I believe that there could be a satellite out there that would fit this description, although I have never heard of one. I do know that Project Stardust has sent a satellite to scoop stardust from the tail of a comet near the sun, to bring back to earth for scientists to study in detail. Was that what this image actually was? Does this explain it? The answer is…at this point…we don’t know anything for certain. But speculations abound.
Taking another look at this theory, if a satellite could not completely deploy its panels to 100 percent, then problems could develop…which would explain why this object was floating freely out in space, only to be caught by SOHO on film. For example, the top or head of the satellite chassis' could appear to the mind’s eye as an orb, due to its circumference. Given the lack of definition in this image, however, it would have to be a piece of space debris over 1,400 miles wide. I would further speculate that this feature of the object suggests that it is an orb, given its optical field of depth and contrast.
COMET THEORY
And let us not forget the comet theory. A comet is another possible explanation, but here again, this comet doesn't have a tail, something that would be clearly visible at such close proximity to the Sun. In fact, an image of a comet apparently photographed over the sun’s corona is offered for closer examination at Liz Edwards web site. I feel it is safe to say that it is NOT a comet..
THE NEW JERUSALEM HYPOTHESIS
Perhaps the most bizarre and paranormal explanation to this UFO was speculation that I received through the UFO hotline. It involves the UFO/Bible paradigm. What is even more bizarre is the fact that this particular theory ties the huge Vatican cover-up, the death of 20 prominent astronomers and a giant, cosmic conspiracy all into one.
The New Jerusalem has a prominent place in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. In this case, the temple is domed in the center, surrounded by twelve "pearls" or "gates” which has also been referred to as the "pearly gates."
When a diagram of the New Jerusalem is examined in profile, one could see how this is a plausible explanation. Some of these features may be hidden, such as retractable landing gear i.e. (the twelve "pillars"). The "pearls" or "orbs" would account for these protuberances of what would otherwise be a flat, disk-shaped feature.
"And he carried me away…and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven." Revelations 21:2 New International Version
It was surrounded (encircled) by a "great high wall" with twelve gates "for the names of the twelve tribes of Israel." At the perimeter of this circular formation are twelve pearls, or orbs, which are known as "gates." (Revelations 21:21 NIV) There are twelve angels, one manning each gate. There are supposed to be three gates at each cardinal point of the compass; 3 to the north, south, east and west. Please note that there is a circular area at each extension of the UFO-disk as well as those peculiar protuberances, or ripples.
The dark irony of all this is that the actual city itself is laid out like a square. According to the Holy Bible, its physical dimensions are 1,400 miles wide and 1,400 miles long. My contact points out that the base of this UFO is…square! "The foundation of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone." I was told to read Revelations 21 (NIV) and get the dimensions of the city and sketch my interpretation of it on a piece of paper. My first sketch was a view from the top of the city. I drew a square and marked 1,400 miles on one side of the square and 1,400 on the other. I then drew a ring around the city and on this ring, I dotted twelve circular areas, using the configuration dictated in Biblical text. OK, nothing special…it looked like a box surrounded by twelve circles at regular intervals.
2."And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of her heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband...10. "And he carried me away in the spirit to a great high mountain, and
showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. 11 "Having the glory of God; and her light was like unto a stone most precious even like jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12. "And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13. On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14. "And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 16. "And the city lie foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth, and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17. "And he measured the wall thereof, and hundred and forty four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18. "And the building of the wall of it was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19. "And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second, sapphire; the third, a
chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20. "The fifth, sardonyx, the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolate; the
eight, beryl, the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh
jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21. :And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were, transparent glass. 22. "And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God
Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 22. "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to
shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it. 25. "And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there." (-Revelations 21, KJV)
It was then suggested that I place an orb in the center of the square city. It says “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamb was the light thereof.” (Revelation21: 23 KJV). I believe that the New International Version provides some additional insights into this luminescence, “The City does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and lamb is the lamp.” (NIV) Therefore, this “city,” or the “New Jerusalem” will provide its own illumination.

AN ANCIENT UFO PROPHECY

This is another enlargement of the image that Liz Edwards had discovered on the SOHO photographs back in 1998. What I noticed as I was exploring this theory, was that the sun was at the background of the image and the UFO was in the foreground. Odd, I thought…Now doesn’t it seem unusual that this object didn’t give any indication of shadow, as it should’ve if the sun was behind it? One would think that this should be the case. This doesn’t appear to be the case at all here. That’s when I discovered that this object was providing its own luminescence or “glory,” as the Bible says. This “glory” is always used to describe the intense illumination that radiates from the presence of God, which is always closely tied to a conveyance or vehicle that not only flies, but behaves in every way like a UFO. In verse 11, the Greek word for light is "phoster" (face-tare'), which is derived from the root "phos" (face) meaning "light". It's literal meaning is to give illumination, as in a luminary, fire or light. The word "phos" has a special meaning in UFO research, as this means to shine or make manifest, especially by rays!
"The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone." What was interpreted as being hot and cold spots on the Sun Cruiser object may in fact be the "precious stone" that decorated the foundation of the city. "The foundation of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone." (21:19 NIV). And it also says, "The streets of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass." Could this possibly mean that the New Jerusalem has opulence all of its own? A radiance that emanates from within the city itself? This immense space craft is to replace the city of Jerusalem, which is presently located in the Middle East. The Bible says that it will descend from "ouranos," the Greek word for sky and celestial space, where the planets and stars exist. The Greek word for Jerusalem is "Heirousalem," pronounced "Hee-or-oo-sal-ame." Over time, the pronunciation of this word has been altered. You can see how it has changed over the years. I believe the interpretation of the Holy Bible has assumed some changes as well. The Greek word for city used in verse 10 is "polis" (pol-is), meaning a city of greater or lesser size. This is a city with physical properties, not unlike the great cities found here on planet Earth. The word metropolis was derived from this ancient Greek root. "...and showed me the great City, the Holy Jerusalem." (REV 21:10)
I completed the drawing of my interpretation of the "great City," as it would be viewed from above. But all I had was a box with an orb in the middle, surrounded by 12 "pearls," or "gates." But then I made the breakthrough. When I rotated the image of the disk to a profile perspective…it matched the image perfectly!
