In one passage of the Old Testament, we can see the Hebrew texts have drawn a direct connection between a UFO (the pillar) and an "angel of God," (its pilot).  It is found in "Exodus" and "Numbers"  This is significant, because it strengthens my assertion  that UFOs are operated by God and his angels (see below).

"And Jehovah was going before them by day in a pillar of cloud...and by a pillar of fire ...by night."

And the Angel of God withdrew, the One going before the camp of Israel.  And He went behind them.  And the pillar of cloud withdrew from before them, and it stood behind them." 
What is significant about this passage of the "Old Testament," is that it indicates that the "Angel of God" was operating this mysterious object.  This particular angel was given a formal name  In the Hebrew text, He was called Malak, (pr. mal-awk). This means a messenger specifically of God, dispatched to protect the Israelites.  I will speculate that He was Jesus Christ, given the connotation of being an ambassador, king and teacher..You may argue that Jesus was God, and righhtly so.  But to the Jews, He appeared to them as an angel.  Christ said that when we die, we shall be like the angels.

In all cases, the literal translation from Hebrew for the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire remains the same.  The word for pillar is ammuwd (pr. aw-mood) meaning a solid, cylindrical object.  The word for cloud is anan (pr. aw-nawn) and it means a cloud.  Cigar-shaped UFOs often surround themselves with a cloud.  The word for fire is 'esh, (aysh), which means flaming, or in this case, a glowing object. This is how it would have been reported today:
The Cigar-Shaped UFO Was A Dark Cloud By Day And A Glowing Object By Night.
