Fast Horse Recordings is a musical statement that we as artists, musicians, songwriters and composers have to make about what can and should be: the right way to do business, fairly, ethically, and with the highest artistic integrity. If you buy a record from us you can be guaranteed that the money goes equally to the artist or band that made that record and to the staff at Fast Horse who promote, market and sell these great records. We believe that just because a person is a musician or artist, does not give license to any company, corporate or otherwise, to exploit or denigrate that artist's musical expression or their financial stability. In other countries that we have visited and studied in, we have met and worked with countless musicians who play because it is their birthright, not because it is a viable "industry". They are carpenters, cigar rollers, shopkeepers and beggars. From Africa, Cuba, Brazil and other places, these countries cherish and respect their musicians, because they are the incarnated cultural expressions of their respective peoples. They are priceless gems that globalization would destroy. We have them here in the United States too, you just don't hear about them too often. We intend to find them and give them a voice and a foundation to build upon. By a Fast Horse record and that's what it will do, support an artistic revolution. If this mission sounds lofty, it is: And why not? Why should we be otherwise? Humanity is here to work and to build, to create and express, and to evolve our spirit. Shouldn't we insist on the best efforts by all of our respective talents? Why spend your hard earned money on disposable crap? Buy art with integrity, with passion, with grit.
