Here are some never before seen pictures of that last section (I found this roll of film in a box in the carport).
Since the last posting here, alot has happend, we went into the studio and recorded some cool stuff back in late 1999, but the spark just wasn't there.
Soon after this we played one last show at Paul Allen's EMP opening, and called it quits.
Thanks for all your years of support. -Van Conner
5/5/99 Yes it has been a wile since I have updated this page but I have
been a busy man. First of all let me tell you that the Trees are alive
and well. We plan to get together in this month of May to start
the ball rolling towards our new record. It looks like we will be
in the studio working on some new songs this month and we will
continue working on and off all summer long. I would like to
thank every one who has sent me email asking about a new Trees
record for keeping the faith.
I just got back from a month long tour with the band Gardener.
The tour went well and we all came back alive. Thank the Lord
for the Ford Econoline. I will let you know if the Trees plan
any live shows or when we will be releasing any new stuff as
soon as I know. By the way, the Gary Lee single did come out
on Sub Pop.
You can get it, the Gardener record and any of
Mark's records from the
Sub Pop web site.
Thanks again for all of your support.
Van Conner.
9/7/98 Well, the Bumbershoot show went well. We are on our way to San fran on friday. We will play LA on sat. The Valis record is out. Mark's new record is also out. Lee's single will be on Sub Pop. It should be out in Jan 99.

Well I went to see Kitty Kitty at
the OK Hotel. It was a good time for all. The Gout is gone thanks to
modern medicine and the lack of booze. Not for the lack of trying
to drink it back. I am going to Seattle again tonight for the Solomon
Grundy get together. The songs are going well. I will speak to Martin,
at Jupiter studios about getting that Lee shit out. I still have not
finished it yet. Barrett says things are well on the REM recording front.
He also is talking to Mark about singing on the Dissinformation record
with himself, Mike McReady and Baker.

Mark is mixing his solo record this week. I hear it
is going to be a great record. Barrett is in Seattle for the day only to
leave tonight to get to work on the new REM record. Check out the new
Josh Homme project, The Desert Sessions, on Mans Ruin records. It is very
cool.
