Plankton

She
Has tears like glitter - stuck on for looks,
Buried in an eternity of Cops & Crooks
Neurotic, half-depressed, and constantly angry;
In her eyes she hides that she's sad and hungry.
She
Asks for forgiveness, but expects none,
Still fighting a battle that should be said and done;
Unallowing herself to be caught from her Fall,
Because she doesn't want to give in at all.
She
Had her life complicated by a friend's observation,
And is so completely sick of that complication.
Fighting herself just to keep still,
And that very fight is what's sapping her will.
She
Is madly in love with her mediator,
But she fights it like a doomed gladiator.
She's determined not to lose her best friend
To a curse that she's brought down time and again.
She
Doesn't want to have to think of it, then,
Doesn't want to see her the ocean for her plankton.
She doesn't want to remember what's outside
But someone always finds her when she tries to run and hide.
