I Am Awake

As I gaze into the dying sun
I am called.
As she falls from sight
I am unable to move.

Twilight fills my vision
Colour sparks my mind

And all draws darker.

Afraid, lost, alone I cry out
"Take me with you!"

But with the dawn of Night
I am answered
"Look, listen
You are not alone."

I see the colours still
Shadowed, alive and known.

And my fear is disbursed
And I awaken.

Within rises another calling
Another life I had never known.

Never? No.
Always known.
Always seen.
So long misunderstood.

But it is not Darkness that has Fallen
Unto me has been Granted new Light.

Do you see what I see?
Do you understand what I feel?

I chose not to chase the dying Sun.
But instead chose to wait and embrace,
Take into me the Darkness,
Understand that it is who I am.

The Sun still shines within.
Is brightened still by my Discovery.

My Life - within & without
My Friends -forever around
My Family - of blood & of spirit

My Sun and My Dark.
It is all that I am

And I Accept It. .

These poems I share so that others may enjoy them. Whether they are only read and analyzed as words or they are felt in the soul is all up to the reader.
