Chamonix Ski Trip

In April of 1999 I accompanied my father on a high school ski trip, which he had organized and was the head supervisor, to Chamonix, France. We had beautiful sunny weather most of the days, and a great time. Here are some of the photos!
This statue is the hear of chamonix. It is a replica of Jaques Balmat with Micheal Gabriel Paccard pointing up to Mont Blanc. They were the first people to summit the mountain over 200 years ago in 1786.
We took the tram up to Aguille du Midi, near the summit of Mont Blanc. From there we spent the whole day skiing down the Valle Blanche into Chamonix. This photo shows the Mont Blanc summit behind me, from the Aguille du Midi lodge.
A photo of me near the top of Mont Blanc with the Alps behind me.
The Valle Blanche is covered with crevasses like this that people ski around. But, skiers must be very careful, because new crevasses form everyday, and numerous lives have been lost by falling in them.
