I'm happy that I found the sootribe site. I really am looking forward to talking to others on the chat line, but as of today every time I've logged on there nobody else was on but me. Could you tell me if anybody else uses the chat line and if so what time of the day. I don't speak chippewa language but I want to learn so I can teach my daughter her native language. It is hard for me to learn from books. Please let me know if there are any audio tapes available. I am a Sault Tribe member. Hope to have my page setup soon. My e-mail address is rfish@lakefield.net .
Subject: Re: Help!
Well, it is 2:43 a.m. Texas time and I finally have a password and another homepage but I didn't find anyone in chat (sootribe chat), of course maybe they have more sense than me and are asleep!
Thanks for your help and yes please add my e-mail to the tribes list.
Thanks again,

Aaniin, my name is Laura. I am a member of the Soo Tribe. I am sorely ignorant of the language and I would love to be able to learn the language of my people. I have tired to learn it on my own, but without some sort of guidance, I am not sure if I am pronouncing the words correctly, let alone using them in the proper context. I attended the pow-wow that was held at the Oceana county fairgrounds on Sept 5-6, 98. I was totally mesmerized by the beauty of the drum song and the dancing. I have not been moved by something as I was moved by the experience of being at the pow-wow. The experience left me with the burning desire to learn as much as I could about the ways and language of the Ojibwe. I am particularly interested in learning the history of my tribe and also in learning the language. Can you offer any assistance? I would be very grateful. Miigwech.......Laura
