Mark Mcgwire hits #62
Mark McGwire uncoiled his massive arms one more memorable time and the swing pitchers fear lined home run No. 62 into the St. Louis evening. McGwire hit the record-breaking home run just over the left-field fence Tuesday night off the Cubs' Steve Trachsel, on the first pitch with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Busch Stadium erupted, McGwire circled the bases and the chase of Roger Maris ended as Big Mac became the greatest single-season home run hitter in the history of Major League Baseball.
