Angela Luke - Captain of the NW Sam Pai Tournament Team
Meet Angie Cabrera. Better here than across the ring from her, ask any who've been there. Angela regularly competes in empty hand kata, weapons kata and fights every division that she can. Oh...and wins in all of them. At a recent tournament she placed 1st in empty hand kata, 2nd in weapons kata, Grand Champion Kata, 3rd in women's brown belt fighting, 1st in women's black belt fighting and Grand Champion Fighting. That's why she's Captain of the Tournament team. |
We call him "Shao Lien".
This charicter is one of the hardest working students I have ever taught. He's easily recognizable by his distictive lack of both fear and good sense. Lien now operates his own school in Olalla, WA. He specializes in teaching younger students. Lien is also a regular competitor on the tournament circuit. He can frequently be seen accepting his trophy's for both empty hand and weapons katas with his inimitable straight face. (You'd never know he just made that kata up on the fly !) . |
