Mystic is our Merlin son, and he is a lot of dog! He is smart, loud and gives 110% effort in everything he does. His favorite thing is to play agility. We have enjoyed the ride! The last few years, he has run agility with his Auntie Paulette, and they have had a blast! They are a good team, and have accomplished a lot in a short time. I am grateful to Paulette for devoting her time and effort to work with Mystic! In addition to agility, Mystic has also done very well in obedience and Rally. He has earned his RNX, RNC, REM, BN and CD in ASCA, and his RI in AKC, along with a leg towards his CD and BN. I moved him to Rally C to work on his X scores for ASCA, and in March of 2020, he achieved a perfect 200 in Rally Novice C! For his Rally Novice in AKC, he earned 3 scores of 99, and qualified for the AKC Rally Nationals held in 2020. We were unable to go, but I am honored that he qualified. For the ASCA Nationals held in Albany, OR in 2016, we worked on herding as well, so Mystic could enter MVA. He had a great conformation evaluation, and qualified in both obedience and Rally. We didn't qualify in his sheep run, so no MVA Qualifying score, but I'm glad we tried! It was a new experience for us both! After being altered in 2017, Mystic has also garnered some points from the Altered conformation program, including a 3 point major. He was never able to finish, but it was fun competing! In Mystic's later years, he developed laryngeal paralysis. He had successful tie-back surgery June of 2021. After that he was no longer able to compete in active sports like agility. However, we discovered scentwork! He loved getting to go to class again, and had a brief career in AKC scentwork from April to October 1, 2023, when he had a final retirement. During that time, he earned his Novice Interior, Exterior and Container titles. He had so much fun going to the trials and competing again. I'm so proud of him, and so glad he had the chance to shine again. I am very proud of Mystic and all the things he has accomplished. We lost him in Dec. of 2023 after he suffered a stroke, and his body was giving out on him. He was a grand dog, and I'm so glad he was mine. |
