I am Diana. I am a wife, mom, dog lover/trainer, collector and reader! As you can tell from the web pages, I also like to do web design. I love horses, too, but haven't been able to ride much the last several years.

Diana and Mercedes Lackey

I have LONG been a fan of fantasy and science fiction books. One of my very (VERY!) favorite authors is Mercedes Lackey! I had the extreme privelege to meet her and her artist/author husband Larry Dixon in August of 2003 during their visit here to the Pacific Northwest. I was the only one crazy enough to go to the signing dressed up (I wore my convention Herald costume based on Ms. Lackey's characters). Both Misty and Larry were wonderful to listen to, with lots of super advice for aspiring writers. However, they both went above and beyond duty when they signed every book I brought (I had a small suitcase full!), and thanked ME for bringing them. This was a wonderful evening spent with wonderful people. It is so very nice to find out that people you admire, more than meet expectations. Thank-you so much to Misty and Larry for being so kind, for signing all my books AND for making out book plates for the ones I had that were MIA. A special Thank-you goes to Paul, the "Captive Brit" for taking this picture of Larry, Misty and me.

Diana's Dogs

One of my loves for many years has been my dogs, dog training and showing. I have put lots of Companion Dog (CD) obedience titles on my dogs, a Companion Dog Excellant (CDX) title, several Rally titles, multiple agility titles in AKC, ASCA and NADAC, plus Championships in ASCA.

The blue merle (gray) boy on the left is Merlin - CH Show Me Howe to Highland Fling, RA, MX, MXJ, RS-E, JS-E, GS-E, EAC, O-EJC, ECC, TN-N, TG-N, HIC. LOTs of alphabet soup, LOL! Merlin enjoys agility immensely, and is very fun to train and trial. I was thrilled when he finished his ASCA Championship in Dec. 2007. What a thrill to have both Magic AND Merlin finished!! We're looking forward to more fun in 2008 with my heart dog. (Photo above from 12/2/07.)

The black dog is Magic - ASCA/Can CH Topgun's Black Magic, RA, AX, OAJ, RS-O, JS-E, GS-O, EAC, O-EJC, OCC, TG-N, HIC. Magic is the first of my dogs to fulfill my long-held dream of a Championship, and I am very proud of him. He is handsome and smart. Magic has done well showing as a special (a Champion), and has several pups who are showing and competing successfully. Magic has also done well in agility, and is a lot of fun to run. what a great, once-in-a-lifetime dog! (Photo above from 12/1/07.)

Duncan is the older man on the right. He is now Topgun's There Can Be Only One, RE, HIC. I have been so proud of him for achieving his Rally Novice, Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent titles, all at 10-11 years old. He did well, with nice scores and placements. He loves to play with the other boys, and go for nice walks. Duncan may come out occasionally for a special occasion, but is mostly retired now. (Photo above from May 2006.)

I've Been Published!

Another of my loves is writing. I had an article about Buttons with Dogs on them, published in the July 2003 issue of the print magazine Canine Collectibles Courier. PLUS I had another article on Margaret & Helen Johnson in the April 2004 issue, AND I now have a regular column in the magazine on vintage dog books. :-) Very Fun!
