Larry Receives his San Dan
On January 18, 2002 Larry tested for his San Dan, or 3rd Degree Black Belt in the Shudokan style. He worked long and hard for this test and passed with flying colors. Sensei Morris Mack presided at the test, along with Sensei Isais and Sensei Paula. Larry was only the second person to be awarded a San Dan through Karate Northwest. Nice job!  |
Larry Receives his Ni Dan for Goshin Jutsu
In October 2002, Larry tested for his Ni Dan, or 2nd degree Black Belt in Goshin Jitsu. He has been training in this grappling style since 1997, and is head instructor of the Goshin Jitsu classes held at Karate Northwest. Sensei Morris Mack presided at the test, along with Sensei Isais and Sensei Paula. Way to go!  |
Larry Competing in Kata
Larry had a great day at the Karate Northwest Invitational Tournament this spring! He competed in Black Belt Kata, and Senior Black Belt Kata, placing first in the senior division.  |
Larry Competing in Weapons
Larry's favorite weapon is the bo. He placed first in the Black Belt Weapons division at the KNW Tournament this spring. He also performed with his bo for the Grand Champion competition. Below are pictures of him, taken during the competition.   |
Larry and the Puppies!
Larry has enjoyed the new puppies, too! His special favorite is little Magic (the black puppy). Magic STILL (at 9 months old) gets on "Dad's" lap like this and gives him kisses! Larry just loves slurpy puppy kisses!  |
