A hill should be placed in the centre of the table. The objective (the Dragon Sword) is placed on the hill. This should be represented by some sort of counter. Other terrain may be set up in any mutually agreeable manner.
Armies are deployed no closer than 24" to each other.
Each player chooses a corner of the table. They must delpoy their army within 12" of their corner of the table.
Armies are chosen from the Warhammer Armies army lists to an equal points value agreed before the game. No Special Characters can take part in this Scenario. If 4 players are taking plart, then bear in mind that if the armies are huge the game may take a long time...
Roll a D6. 1-3: 5 Turns 4-6: 6 Turns
All players should roll a D6. The player with the highest score goes first. Play then proceeds in a clockwise direction around the table if 4 players are taking part.
Any unit may take the Dragon Sword by passing over it's counter. The Dragon Sword is the 'Sword of Heroes' as detailed in Warhammer Magic.
If the unit is broken or destroyed in hand to hand combat, the victors of the combat take the sword. If the unit is destroyed by shooting, flees in panic, etc., then it drops the sword. Place the counter where the unit was destroyed/ started to flee. Units may then pick up the sword by passing over it.
The winner is the player who has accumalated the most victory points. Victory points are awarded in the normal way, with the alterations that the player whose army is carrying the Dragon Sword at the end of the battle should be awarded 5 extra victory points, and no points are awarded for occupying table quarters.
