Disclaimer: Do I REALLY have
to do this? All right, all right! *growls at the person standing behind her* I
don’t own anyone in this story. Someone else with more money does. *mumbles to
herself about getting a better imaginary assistant*
Trunks held
his girlfriend in his arms as she cried. Pan had just lost her father and her
mother to a horrible (and very powerful) enemy that had snuck up on them during
the night. Unfortunately enough, the
young, weeping girl had been spending the night at Bra’s and didn’t get back to
her house fast enough to save her sleeping parents.
“I should’ve gotten there sooner! It’s all my fault!” Pan sobbed
mournfully. Trunks’ shirt was soaked
thoroughly from his sad girlfriend’s tears.
“Shhh…Panny, it was NOT your fault. You flew here as fast as you could. The enemy was very powerful and fast in its killings,” he tried to comfort. The words worked the exact opposite and made Pan cry even more instead. Trunks could only guess how much longer he could go without changing into a dry shirt.
The next two weeks were a living disaster (thought I was
gonna say something bad, didn’t ya?) for all at Capsule Corporation as
Pan now lived there as well.
“Pan, honey, I know all your family is dead except for one. I mean, first Mr. Satan (ew! Mr.
Disgusting is more like it!) died from fright of a small, harmless
spider, your Grandpa Goku ^sniff^ died during a horrible battle, and now your
parents. But you need to learn to keep
going.”
“Thanks, Bulma-San. If you don’t mind, I’m going to spar with
Vejita-Sama now,” a very weary Pan said.
Although she greatly appreciated
their attempts at cheering her up, all efforts of Pan’s friends bounced off of
a brick wall. The only one she would
even BEGIN to listen to was Trunks. Too
bad he had to work that day. Then an
idea so simple it was crazy came to Pan and she began to pray.
“God,” she
began, “If my family is in Heaven, please take care of them. And if they aren’t, well, I don’t really
want to think about that possibility.
Listen, I know I haven’t talked to You for three weeks or so, but I
really need to talk to you now. I know I’m not alone; I
mean, I have Bulma-San, Vejita-sama, Trunks-kun, Bra-Chan, Marron-Chan, and
Uncle Goten. But it doesn’t seem enough. I need my family back. Or maybe I just need more of You in my
life. I mean, everyone else has You as his
or her Heavenly Father and, yet, I have failed to recognize You as so. Please help me to get through this. Amen.”
Pan immediately felt a great weight lifted and, as small as it was, a
ray of hope shined through.
Pan flew back to Capsule Corporation with a
kind of renewed hope. She would
emotionally heal, hug everyone of her friends, and marry Trunks. Now if she could only get Trunks to hurry up
and propose already…
So, what’d ya
think? Please tell me!
