Peer Pressure
1997-1998
Premise: Kids play Video Village with contemporary questions and games.
Rules: Three teens play each game. Each player has a random category chosen for them:
Decision: (3-6 spaces) A "Card Sharks" type question was asked to the audience, and the player must correctly predict what the majority said to move forward.
Fast Track: The longest move in the game (8 spaces) and also the hardest. The contestant must accomplish a difficult stunt to move ahead, but if he or she fails, 2 spaces are given for attempting.
Odd Job (3-6 spaces) The player is given a chore or stunt to perform within a time limit to move forward.
Temptation: (2 spaces) Like an "Instant Bargain." The player is presented a prize, and may keep it and move back two spaces, or decline it and move forward 2 spaces. No matter what, Temptation prizes are kept after the game.
Throughout the game, "Pop Quizzes" are played. A question is asked of the players, and the first to buzz in may answer. Correct answers win three spaces, incorrect answers drop back three. Only one player may attempt a question.
In the course of the game, the player may hit "move ahead 2" spaces, in which case he or she does, or "Right Decision Right Now" after the first turn. That player must play a Decision-type question for two spaces.
After each player has five turns, the two players who have moved the farthest along the board advance to the "Pressure Cooker" round. In this round, each player plays Decision questions until someone gets three right. That player wins the grand prize. The player who won round one goes first in round two as an advantage.
