Homestead *Synopsis: May 9, 2001 NEW EPISODE! When life signs are detected on a nearby asteroid, Neelix is amazed to find a community of fellow Talaxians struggling to survive against mercenary oppressors who want only to mine the asteroid for minerals. Paralyzed with complacency, it falls to Neelix to instill in them the will to fight for the land they wish to keep. Webmistress's thoughts: Did they ever answer the question about how the Talaxians got there in the first place? Neelix hitched a ride on a vessel capable of warp 9 from all the way across the galaxy and the other Talaxians somehow got there first. I know there are Trekkies/Trekkers who never liked Neelix and loved to see him go, but I personally liked Neelix. He was a good addition to the crew, especially as chef and moral officer. It's too bad he wanted to go. It seems as though he is going to be happy where he is though. He has found a companion whom he likes very much and he believes he belongs. For a long time, Tuvok has remarked that Neelix was annoying, but in the end Tuvok put aside his pride and gave Neelix something to remember him by. If he had made it to Earth, what kind of job would he be doing? He could be a Delta Quadrant advisor, but so could the rest of the crew. At least they have 2 way communication with him so his godchild, Naomi, and him can stay in touch. Your Thoughts Give me your thoughts! |
