Imperfection

*Synopsis: January 3, 2001
Seven's imminent core disintegration opens the door for a Borg youth to calculate the only possible solution, the transference of his Borg core to her. When Seven realizes the potential danger to Icheb's physiology she summarily rejects the proposal, but Icheb secretly disconnects his own cortical node so that his theory can be proved and Seven's life saved.

Webmistress's Thoughts:
In this episode, Icheb got the chance to show his feelings. Unlike Seven who was a Borg into her adulthood, Icheb still retained many 'human' emotions. Taking a chance that he would make it through the cortical node separation, Icheb was willing to sacrifice himself so that Seven could live.

Underneath all that borg technology, Icheb showed us that there was a kind and caring person trying to get out. Are the writers going to get him a girlfriend next episode? Ok, now away from the mushy stuff...

All around, I thought this episode was pretty good. It's too bad they sent the other Borg children away, I wanted them to develop them further. I guess they have enough characters to try to write for. For example, in a different episode... what ever happened to those Starfleet people who came from the Alpha Quadrant also but were killing little aliens in order to get home. They mutinied against Captain Janeway, but at the end she accepted them into the crew, and they were to be closely watched. I haven't seen any of them. Have you?

Give me your thoughts!
