Shattered *Synopsis: Seska and Dr. Chaotica return Voyager is suddenly fractured into a myriad of separate time zones, ranging from its distant past through two decades into the future, and only Chakotay can move among them. Although he understands the phenomenon and how to reverse the fatal event, he must convince hostile crew members and a reluctant Janeway, all of whom exist years in the past. Webmistress's Thoughts: What a great episode! This was a great way for them to summarize the last seven years into one episode. It brought back a lot of memories of the forgotten early seasons. This is one of those episodes I can watch over and over again and not get bored. I was in shock when they just ended the episode with Janeway saying, "I can't tell you that... temporal prime directive." They can't end it like that!! It left a doubt in my mind. Did she really remember all that Chakotay had told her or not? Since time is such a tricky issue to be playing with, that leaves me to wonder if Chakotay had not told Janeway that he was to be First Officer, would she have picked Tuvok. If you'll remember, the choice was between Tuvok and Chakotay. Tuvok would have been a perfect choice, but Chakotay was a Maquis leader. She must have remembered all that Chakotay said because she does say, at the end of the episode, where he hid the smuggled bottles of wine(?). And how would she have known that otherwise? When Chakotay and Janeway enter the future and they see Icheb and Naomi Wildman, they really shouldn't have said that they both died seven years ago. That was another, "No!!" from me. In the movies, when the lead character dies, you want to watch it again to see if the outcome changes because you really don't want them do die. Your Thoughts Give me your thoughts! |
