NOTE: No longer recommended, at least as a commercial artifact. As an archival fan project, this now would teeter on the edge of unacceptable appropriation of officially released material.
DEEP: The 11 circulating BOTT outtakes all together
on one CD is certainly a welcome addition to anyone's collection.
Tastily compiled in the order they were recorded and presented in
official release quality (because most of the songs are pirated
from official releases, and the others are from the initial test
pressing). Although most Dylan fans will already own at least the
7 tracks on official releases, it's nice to have them all in one
place. A masterpiece in its own right, scraping buttons and all.
Perhaps come 1999, Sony will give us this and more on the 25th
anniversary bonus disks of "The Complete Blood on the
Tracks Sessions."
ISIS: The complete circulating outtakes, for the most part
in absolutely pristine quality. Brought together like this they
form a formidable body. The outtakes provide insight into the
development of the songs towards their final unsurpassable
incarnations. It's captivating to hear the sharp edge of pain
rising a little closer to the surface.
