Bio on The Wallflowers
Here's the download on your favorite Wallflower!!!!!
Mario Calire is from NY, but grew up in Ojai, CA. He plays the drums awesomely! There is no one like him!! Sorry I got off track!! He lives with his parents(Ahhhh!!) but the last time I checked he had already moved out. He is 23 and
yes girls is single but I've heard a thing or two about him seeing someone.
The most important thing though is that he is happy, ok girls wipe those tears
off your face now!! Mario is a vegetarian although I read a concert review
that said Greg had mentioned that he isn't. So that's still in the open. He
has said that he isn't much into parting and not getting high (Cool!!) He
doesn't drink nor smoke either. See people, he is a very good role model!! Ok
whatever, I'll calm down now! People have said that he's so smart that he
skipped a grade while in school. He's also a very shy guy especially around
girls (Ahhh!!) Finally, he sings along while playing the drums but he lip syincs
though. I've heard that he has a pretty good voice but he thinks otherwise. For

Mario! ~ Vanessa
Moving on now, my next target is yes, you've guessed it, Jakob Dylan! He was
born on December 9, 1969. So if you're a Jake fan, you better mark your
calendars!! He's been married to Paige ever since the first album came out.
They now have a three year old son named Levi and they are expecting another
baby soon. Well, he's a very talented guy. He writes all the songs he plays
and get this, he fixes the chords to go with his voice becaused he thinks he
doesn't have a good voice! He was once asked to play the part of John Travolta/
Nicholas Cage's brother in "FACE OFF" but he turned down the offer saying "I'm a
singer, not an actor." Similarly, he was asked to do the voice of Tommy's cousin
and to sing with others in the movie, "RUGRATS: THE MOVIE". He said yes. I'm guessing that he accepted because of his little boy, you know! Anyway, he cuts his own hair, does his laundry,
and hates jewelry, especially gold, but made the exception with his wedding
ring, which is silver. His favorite designer is Giorgio Armani, who sends his
designer clothes to Jakob for free. Wondering about his education? Well, he
went to Parson's School of Art and Design in NYC to obviously study art but he left
because it wasn't what he wanted. I've heard that he was a delivery boy. Some
say he delivered pizza, others Chinese. You come to your conclusions!
Next up is Rami Jaffee. He was the last member to join the original Wallflowers,
after hearing a demo tape and finding it amazing. In the
liveconcerts interview,
Jakob mentioned about how he met Rami. He mentiones how he was looking for a keyboard
player around LA at the time. He was hoping to get the guy from Tom Petty and
The Heartbreakers, but had no luck. So he asked around about any good players.
Rami was mentioned and so Jakob went out to look for him. He found him and started
The Wallflowers.
"When I first met the Wallflowers in the Kibitz Room," says the band's pianist,
Rami Jaffee, "it was this hokey little bar, and there was only one booth with
people in it, and the Wallflowers were getting free drinks." Jaffee, who was
working in a shoe store at the time, wanted to join the band as soon as he heard
it. "They just seemed like very nice guys, quiet. It was funny because growing
up in LA, I know everybody and I didn't know them. They said, we have this demo
tape. So we go into the parking lot and I was like, this is amazing. The rest
is history." ~ interview with US Magazine, July 1996
Rami and his wife Alicia have a baby girl named Tovi. Also, Alicia
and Paige Dylan, Jake's wife, were in the movie, "Grace Of My Heart," with small roles.
Greg Richling went to high school with Jake. They jammed together in friend's
garages but they went their separate ways until a few years back, when The
Wallflowers were looking for a bass player. Greg did tour with the original Wallflowers.
He played bass on some of Fiona Apple's song on her current album, "Tidal."
His father suggested to call the band "Cold Fire," but they actually had one
already and decided to keep it. I think it sounds like they were trying to say
no in a nice way, what do u think? ~ Leigh
Michael Ward used to be a player where he would jump from album to album helping out
to play his guitar. He has played on albums such as John Hiatt's "Perfectly
Good Guitar," in 1993. His web site
has more. He is also a bit ascetic and sometimes not noticed as much as the
others. But he is agressive. He rides up to 60 miles a day on his bike.
In April '97, the guys were in Austin, Texas for "Rock for the Roses". Michael
rode his bike along Austin favorite, Lance Armstrong, who went to the '96 games
in Atlanta. The guys also performed the National Anthem. They came again this year,
May 23, '98 - it was awesome!! Check out
my review. I wish I could of taken pics but you'll have to take my word on it being an awesome show! ~ Leigh
