Jennifer Love Hewitt's role is kept to a minimum. While she is sooooo sexy, this is definitely a good thing. She's not really the kind of actess that can carry a movie all be herself (i.e. I Still Know). She's more of a supporting role and she can barely do that. She's very limited in her ability and her voice sounds like a it's piercing my spine.
The main character is me in high school. He's a nerdy guy that has an insane crush on the hottest girl in the school. He's not all that likeable, but you do feel sorry for him because he is such a dork.
We meet the large cast just before the party on the last night of their senior year. It's a monumental moment in all of our lives, but looking back I really hated everyone I went to school with. Oh well, here everyone is a cliche of your typical high schooler. It's unfortunate though the actors are not as good as the cast of The Breakfast Club, or we could have a great film on our hands.
At times the movie seems a bit lame and poorly written, but it has its moments of power. The lead singer of the band getting drunk is an outstanding scene. But it's not as funny as Emilio Estevez getting stoned.
I can't help but compare this to The Breakfast Club because that is the best teen film ever. All the others are just trying to obtain its greatness. I give Can't Hardly Wait a B.
