What is the matrix?
I wanted to know. It is one of the most visually stunning and entertaining movies of this year. It will blow you away. The fight scenes are done so incredibly well. The camera seems to be lodged in your head adding to the power of the scenes. The special effects still linger with me. I can still picture the blur inducing speed of Neo as he dodges fists, bullets, and kicks.
Keanu Reeves isn't known for his acting, but he has a sleekness that makes him perfect for such a futuristic, space role. He has the three things one needs to sell me on their ability to win a fight: youth, speed, and fury.
The plot is one of the most original ideas I've seen in years. IT'S ORIGINAL!! I haven't seen such greatness in science fiction since the original Predator and the second Alien film came out.
The cast is great. Laurence Fishburne is great in the veteran/leader role. He has us hypnotized with his smooth voice and intellectual language.
I loved The Matrix. I can't wait to see it again. It's one of those movies you can watch over and over and see something new every time.
It will test you. I give it an A.
