Billy Crystal is on a serious slump. This could be his stepping stone out of that rut of bad movies. It's not the greatest of movies I've seen in the past year, but it does hold it's own.
Crystal plays Sam, a sleazy agent, that loses his only client and is looking for new talent. He crashes into Max (Gheorghe Muresan) and sees the possibilities are endless.
Muresan is surprisingly good compared to other ball players turned actors (Rodman, Jordan, O'Neal). And he should show up in another movie soon. He's so likeable in My Giant. A subplot in the movie has Max trying to find his lost love of 23 years. The scenes where he thinks he is talking to here are amazing. Muresan totally pulled me and tugged at heart strings like Titanic.
I recommend seeing My Giant purely to see Muresan. He's very cool and the friendship between him and Crystal is great. I give this film a C+.
