Small Soldiers
Every few months we get a certain type of film, the forgettable kids flick. Free Willy, Alaska, and My Girl are all examples of this. Movies I'd love to like, but they just leave a lot to be desired.
Small Soldiers is about real toys that can move, talk, and think. They are supposed to take the country by storm. But they end up fighting too violently. The special effects are amazing. The voices are perfect, but it's just not very good. I can't quite put by finger on what is missing, but a better plot sure would've helped.
I wanted to like this movie, but I didn't. I give it a C-.
