DID YOU EVER?

Did you ever want to go
And play outside in the snow,
But you couldn't find your mittens or your hat?
So inside you had to stay ...
In your bedroom you did play,
And you had a conversation with your cat.

Did you ever wish that you
Could live downtown at the zoo
Next door to the elephants and bears?
You could splash around in water ...
Play with penguins and with otters,
And although you missed school, not a soul would care.

Did you ever want to ride
On a duck's back at high tide
And glide across the surface of the bay?
Say hello to all the fishes ...
Let your brother do the dishes,
And there wouldn't be a subway fare to pay.
