I woke up at 8:30 in the morning to go to the bathroom, as I'm walking back to the bedroom I feel a gush of warm water going down my legs, I was very excited and new right away what was going on, My DH was asleep. I said "honey, wake up...look" Long woke up and was looking at me wanting to know what was going on, "my water broke" I said, Long jumped out of bed and got dressed. He asked what we should do and I told him that I wanted to go to the hospital. As Long is running around getting my hospital bag packed and getting dressed I'm trying to stop this fluid from running down my legs, I felt like a water fall it would not stop. I sat on the toilet and waited trying to figure out what to do next. I had no pads and the fluid kept on flowing. I thought of putting on a diaper but they obviusly wouldn't fit. I finally loaded up a bunch of toilet paper and put it in my underware, put some towels on the passanger seat of the car and went to the hospital, we were both pretty silent on the way there, I don't know about Long but I couldn't stop thinking about this little baby that was soon gonna be in the world. It took us a half hour by the time we got up till we reached the hospital, I had my first contraction at 9:00 am, it wasn't bad, it felt like a cramp in my back. It seemed like every other woman wanted to have their babies on the same day so we got to wait in the waiting room for 15 minutes, that is untill I saw my ob/gyn, she took one look at me and said "what are you doing here?" "I'm in labor" I said, Dr. Cha laughed and said "another one, it's gonna be a long day". At 9:15 I was put in a really nice birthing room (with a rocking chair, lazy-boy, double bed and a shower) Dr.Cha examined me and said that I was 6cm dialated and 80% effaced, 15 minutes later I was 8cm dialated. I was told I would have a fast delivery. At 11:00 the contractions really started to hurt, we had decided that we would go for a natural delivery. it was very painful and I tried walking around, getting my shoulders massaged, even had a nice shower but all that seemed to make the pain worse. I had to push for 1hour and 15min, I wont say the embarassing things that happened while I was pushing but those of you who have children probably know. The one thing that I did not want to happen was an episiotamy but sure enough Dr. Cha says I'm gonna have to cut you "oh no your not" I said (I yelled it) " I have to" she says, "your starting to tear" she went and cut (man that hurt, I had to have alot of stiches and I could hardly walk without help.) At 5:33pm I got my boy, Logan came out screaming and kicking, he was 7lbs 3oz . He was purple, wet and his eyes were wide open and moveing all around. He was the most wonderful thing I had ever seen.
