MEAT CAKES

MEAT CAKES

1 Lb Ground Beef 2 Teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons Potato flour, or Potato starch
1 Tablespoon Oregano
1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
2 Cups Milk
1 Egg

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the salt, then add the potato flour, pepper, nutmeg
and oregano. Add the egg, and stir the mixture really good. Add the "COLD" milk slowly,
while stirring.
Form into cakes with a tablespoon, and fry on both sides, in a medium hot frying pan
until brown
Cook the meat cakes in brown gravy for 20 minutes. Serve with green peas and boiled potatoes

BROWN GRAVY

1/2 Cup Oil, any cooking oil will do
1 Cup Flour
Water
Salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste

In a medium hot frying pan combine the oil amd flour, and stir the mixture until it gets brown
Put the mixture in a pot, and over high heat slowly add water until desired consistency
I like to make it on the thicker side!!
This is another Norwegian dish.
