            August Moon

            The moon half-in, half-out
            of pale afternnon sky,
            looks like a twenty-five-cent piece
            tucked into the half-moon pocket
            of a missionary offering book,
            the kind filled with quarters
            culled from allowance, movie money,
            and strawberry picking;
            sent out with a grain of mustard seed
            on the last day of Vacation Bible School.

            How many mountains
            have those quarters moved?
