The Summer Fun Program has been a popular program for rural youth living in Southeast Pierce County and their friends visiting from other school.

The PSIA staff is very excited to meet your kids as we again present the third Summer Fun Program.

Staff this year will be Susan Brossart, Kathi Bowman, DiAnn Carney, Wendy Peterson, Jani Thiel, Mark Thiel, Judy Layne and Linda Estby.

Ann Lane, from Columbia Crest School will be the Head Cook. Lunches will be prepared at the Eatonville Elementary School Cafeteria on Wednesdays. Lunches will be transported in a food warmer to the youth at Columbia Crest.

Monday's youth from Columbia Crest will travel to Eatonville to enjoy lunch and games with the Eatonville youth. Youth are divided into small, age appropriate groups. Each group will have a craft project one day a week.

The doors of the cafeteria open at noon. Youth will sign in and be given a name tag before eating. Lunches are served from noon to 12:30 P.M. Recreation and games begin at 12:40 P.M. Youth are supervised at all times. At 1:45 P.M. all youth meet in the cafeteria and will be ready for parent/guardians to pick them up.

Civic groups who will offer their devotion and time to the program are Veterans of Foreign War, Lady Lions, Eatonville Methodist Women's Group, Eatonville PTA and PSIA volunteers and friends.

Last year we fed over 230 youth a free hot lunch for twenty days. How rewarding and exciting this program has been.

YOUTH PARTICIPATION: In order to have this program pay for itself, it is so important that we have youth participation.

This is a winning program for all involved. We look forward to meeting you and your youth. It is our pleasure to offer a safe, positive place for you and your youth this summer.

If you have any suggestions or would like to volunteer please call us at (360) 832-8336.
