Name | Leons Bite Indicator |
Category | All Species |
Preparation | My home made Bite Indicator is simply made by placing Polystyrene Balls into White Nylon Socking pantyhose material and connecting to a quick release attachment. The quick release attachment was taken off a wire tracer that is used for quick attachment of lures. It is then, simply attached to the Braided Loop where you attach your leader.

Comments | This casts very well. I have not had any difficulties with them. I have sprayed other bite indicators
with a coat of Fluorescent Bright Pink Paint, but the White serves very well. At least these Bite Indicators "stay on" and when you have a bite, they will let you know.

This fly fishing aid is the invention of Leon Guthrie. He has sent it in response to questions from readers who have said that they have difficulty using Bite Indicators. Thanks Leon for another great tip. Leon is a regular contributor and his original flies are also unique, not only for their realistism, but for the inventive use of non-traditional materials.
