We displayed another rendition by Scotty of this fly originated by Alec Jackson a few months ago. This example shows another color variation, but also indicates, by the care he puts into his flies, the respect that he has for the originator, Alec Jackson. See also Sauk River Shrimp/Grub, Orange. You can also see more of Scotty's flies at The Flies of Scott Howell.See his notes below
SCOTT'S NOTES: This amazing pattern was designed and developed by Alec Jackson of the Yorkshire Flyfisher. Using Alec's method of twisting tinsel and Ostrich Herl (in to a 'chenille') makes this a labor intensive fly to dress...but worth the effort! It is an ideal attractor pattern for Winter Steelhead. Color variations could include Purple, Chartreuse, Claret, and Black. Another variation would be to substitute the Saddle for Guinea on the 'body' and using Guinea fibers instead of bucktail for the tail.
