This beautiful version of the Freight Train, is tied by Scott Howell. See his notes about it below. You can see more of Scott Howell's flies at The Flies of Scott Howell.
Scotty's Notes: The Freight Train was invented in the 1970's by Randall Kaufmann of Portland, Oregon.
The original 'Train' was superseded by the Flashabou Freight Train and evolved in to the Krystal Flash Freight Train. While it was designed for Oregon's Deschutes river it has become one of the most popular and effective Steelhead flies throughout the entire Pacific Northwest.
