Naranxeira was tied by contributing fly tyer, Scott Howell. It is a revised version of the Naranxeira that he tied at an earlier date and worthy of a new look. I don't know how Scooty's flies can get much better than this. See also his Northwest Naranxeira, a variation tied especially for northwest waters. You can see more of Scott Howell's flies at The Flies of Scott Howell. See his notes about the Naranxeira below.

Scotty's Notes: This fly was designed by the great Belarmino Martinez of Pravia, Asturias, Spain. He was considered by many to be one of Europe's foremost fly dressing masters. Martinez was well-known for his ornate Salmon flies and the Naranxeira is one of the few simple hairwing patterns he created. This example was tied and slightly modified from the instructions found in Taff Price's, "Fly Patterns - An International Guide".
