Skate'n Fool is an original fly from Oregon fly tyer and fly fisherman Joel LaFollette. See Joel's notes about it below and you can find out more about him and his flies at The Flies of Joel LaFollette .
Joel's Notes: "This is the newest fly in the series, developed with an eye toward a fly that was near and dear to my grandfather. He was very fond of an old fly called the Float'n Fool and made it his own here in Oregon. As a kid it was all we fished most of the time. While planning a trip to BC to fish the Bulkley and Kispiox I tyed this fly and tried it out on the Deschutes. I have been very happy with the number of fish it has brought to the surface both here in Oregon and on the rivers of BC."
I am currently working on other flies in this series but will withhold them until they too are proven winners. For updated fly patterns and fishing reports visit www.royaltreatmentflyfishing.com. |
