This pattern was originated and tied by Leon Guthrie of Galashiels, Scotland. Leon was a prolific contributor to Salmonfly.Net for a several years. He is now retired and fishing in his native Scotland and is a regular at the site Game Angler Online where you will see many more of his flies.
You can see many more of Leon Guthrie's originals at The Flies of Leon Guthrie. See his notes below about this particular fly.
LEON'S NOTES: This one is a very productive pattern and is based on the well known "Yellow Dancer" that is used in a lot of our fisheries with great success. This is no exception and catches a lot of fish. This is the very one that I use on the Fisheries and River Tweed.
